What is a Browser |
 |
A browser is a software application which allows you to surf the world wide web or internet by telling it what you are looking for. It then contacts a web server and sends a request for that information. When it receives the information, it posts it to your screen.
So... what does one look like and how do I get to it?
Most computers come already loaded with Internet Explorer as a browser. This is the icon that is placed on your desktop. Your desktop is what you see on your screen after you've started your computer before you have opened any other programs.
Internet Explorer is one of the most commonly used browsers. It is a Microsoft product.
Here's another way to find your browser, or any programs, when you don't have an icon for it on your desktop....
|
Find the "start" button in the lower left portion of your screen. Left click on it.
